TEAM J-HAWK BASKETBALL COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

1. I recognize Team J-Hawk Basketball as a developmental phase of the game that promotes fair play, sportsmanship and citizenship.

2. I will plan practices and prepare lineups and game plans that focus on development and having fun, as opposed to winning and losing. 

3. I will encourage and promote a safe and healthy playing environment. I will ensure that all players will utilize provided protective equipment at all times. I will inspect protective equipment routinely and will make arrangements for repair when needed.

4. I will be knowledgeable of the rules of the game as provided by the Team J-Hawk Basketball league and as governed by the National Federation of State High School Associations Rules and Regulations.

5. I will enforce and abide by the rules, policies and regulations of the Team J-Hawk Basketball league at all times.

6. I will treat all officials with respect and dignity and shall teach each individual player to do the same.

7. I will seek to improve my knowledge of the game and coaching practices to ensure that I am providing the best developmental and age appropriate information to each player.

8. I will treat all players, coaches, administrators, officials, parents and spectators with respect, dignity and professionalism at all times.

9. I will be responsible for the conduct of my players, assistant coaches, and team parents.

10. I will demand a drug, alcohol and tobacco free environment at all league practices, games and functions.

11. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of myself and any personal desire win.

12. I agree to follow any, and all, Community Education rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to COVID-19 mitigation measures and address any violation of the rules with the students, or parents of the students, on my team.

13. I will effectively communicate to all the parents / guardians on my team to ensure they receive practice, game, and league information in a timely manner.
