 KAREN ACRES INTERSESSION | BAND-Tastic Boot Camp! with Ms. McMurry

During this intersession, we will learn about the wonderful world of marching band! We will learn the categories of instruments, the basics of keeping time and reading music, and how to add movement to songs. We will have guest speakers from the UHS marching band and students will have the opportunity to present what they've learned at the end of the week! They are also invited to see the UHS marching band in action at the Friday Night football game that week!

KAREN ACRES INTERSESSION | Think it, Build it, Play it with Mrs. Goforth

During this intersession students will play a variety of board games to gain understanding of how games work. After playing a variety of games, students will then work in small groups to create a board game of their own and play a variety of games created by their peers.

KAREN ACRES INTERSESSION | What will YOU be? A Career Quest Week! with Ms. McMurry

During this intersession, we will learn about a variety of careers. Students will be able to take a multiple intelligences quiz and a career quiz to help them come up with a list of careers they may be interested in having in the future! We will have guest speakers, information on local colleges or trade schools, and mock job interviews. We'll also talk about what steps they can take as an elementary student that would help them be successful at their dream job in the future. The students will be able to present their potential future job/s at the end of the week!
