Adult First Aid / CPR / AED Certification

Need to obtain or renew your CPR certification?  Join us!  Participants will learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED) use of ventilations with a barrier device and relief of choking.  (High School Seniors & Adults).  Instructor:  Taylor Witzel

Participants complete the ONLINE COURSE (1.) using the instructions below.  Once participants have completed the course, you will need to ENROLL IN A TESTING DATE (2.) to obtain certification.

  1. ONLINE COURSE (NEW PROCESS AS OF MARCH 2023):

ADULT LOGIN PROCESS:

1.)  You must have an account within the AEA system to register for the course.

·  If you have an account, Skip Down to #2.

·  If you do not have an account, go to https://training.aealearningonline.org and click the Register Here link.

a.)  When making your account, you will be asked if you are a district or AEA employee.  Select Yes.  Then you will be prompted for the district.

·  If you are a school district employee, you will want to select that district and get your district’s password.  This will be important to take trainings for that school district at a later time.

·  If you are not a school district employee, select Community Education from the list.  Then below, where it asks for district password, enter in aeacommunityed2022.

b.)  Once you have added the info, go to the bottom and click save.  It will come back to the same page to do a check on your information.  If everything is okay and there are no errors, you will now see a green button at the bottom.  Click that to finalize your registration.

2.)  When you have an account, go to https://training.aealearningonline.org/course/WS00039999 to register for the course.  It should be free for you.  If the system is trying to charge you, that means you are a pay customer and not a “district employee”.  Click on your profile button and repeat step 1a above.  If all else fails, you can contact support@aealearningonline.org and let them know that you need to be added to the Community Education district in the Training System.  Do not pay, as there are no refunds with the AEA.

3.)  Once you have registered for the course, the system will take you in.  If you need to stop the course at any time, go back to https://training.aealearningonline.org when you return, and click the resume button.

4.)  When you are done, you should see a button to download your certificate on the home page at https://training.aealearningonline.org.  There is sometime an issue with the Red Cross server telling the AEA server when a person is finished.  If this happens, let support@aealearningonline.org know that you are done with the training but didn’t receive the certificate.  They will manually complete it and get the certificate to you.

5.)  Print Certificate to bring it to the in-person Testing Session.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT (18+ Years) LOGIN PROCESS:

1.)  Go to www.aeak12online.org

2.)  Sign in using Google or AEA Login button

·  Once you have the code you need to select - student, type in "Urbandale Schools" for the building, and enter the verification code.

·  It will require that you put in a graduation year, just put in the current year. Once logged in, go to step 3.

3.)  Click Go To Course

4.)  Click 'click here' just below the course code box (please know that this blends in so make sure to put your cursor over it to advance), click here to find the course.
